Kolkata Knight Riders pacer penalised for breaching IPL Code of Conduct

Kolkata Knight Riders bowler Harshit Rana has been fined a total of 60 percent of his match fees for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens on Saturday.

Rana was found guilty of two Level 1 offences under Article 2.5 of the IPL's Code of Conduct and was fined 10 percent and 50 percent of his match fees for each respective offence.

The penalty was imposed due to his unsportsmanlike behavior towards SRH players Mayank Agarwal and Heinrich Klaasen. He gestured send-offs to SRH stars.

He admitted to both offences and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. It's worth noting that for Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is deemed final and binding.

Despite the disciplinary actions taken against him for his conduct, Rana's on-field contributions was noteworthy and pivotal to his team's success in the match.

Rana demonstrated remarkable skill and composure in the crucial final over, successfully defending 13 runs and securing victory for KKR by a narrow margin of 4 runs against SRH.
