Indian bowler Ravi Bishnoi displaced Rashid Khan at the top of the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings following his Player of the Series-winning performance in their 4-1 series victory against Australia.

The 23-year-old leg-spinner took nine wickets in five matches, rising four slots to number one with 699 ratings points in the weekly update which considers the performances of the week up to December 4.

Bishnoi’s consistency since making his T20I debut in February 2022 has seen him pick up 34 wickets in 21 matches, attributing to his meteoric rise.

Other movements among the bowlers include a 16-slot leap to 11th place by fellow India star, Axar Patel, with 638 points and massive gains by Mukesh Kumar, who rose 45 slots to 104th, Avesh Khan who rocketed 125 places to 176th, and Australia’s Aaron Hardie who ascended 341 slots to 180th. Patel also features in the all-rounders list, soaring 15 slots to 15th place.

In the batters list, India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal rose 16 places to 19th (581 points), while Travis Head also climbed 16 slots to 29th (548 points).

In the rankings, which consider performances from the first Test match between Bangladesh and New Zealand in Sylhet, visiting captain Kane Williamson remains at the top of the batters list after his century against Bangladesh in their losing cause this past week.

He rests with 883 ratings points, 24 ahead of number two, Joe Root from England on 859 after Bangladesh pulled off a comprehensive, 150-run victory.

Williamson’s teammate, Daryl Mitchell, slid up one spot to number seven (804 points), while Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim hopped two slots to take 20th place with 661 points.

The home side’s skipper, Najmul Hossain Shanto’s match-winning century helped him break into the top 50 batsmen for the first time, he sits in 42nd place, rising 13 slots from 55th.

The top 12 with the ball remained unchanged, led by India’s Ravichandran Ashwin on 879 points, but Player of the Match in the clash against New Zealand, Taijul Islam’s 10 wickets earned him a career-best rise to 14th place from 18th. His current total of 708 points is the highest-ever by a Bangladesh bowler, surpassing Shakib Al Hasan’s 705 achieved in August 2017.

Kyle Jamieson re-entered the bowlers list in 13th place and re-entered the all-rounders list in 15th place with 188 points, while Bangladesh’s Nayeem Hasan and the BLACK CAPS’ Glenn Phillips re-entered in 49th and 85th place respectively among the bowlers.

The pair also re-entered the all-rounders list in 59th and 66th place respectively.

In the rankings, West Indies captain, Shai Hope, moved up four slots to 11th place with 698 in the batters list which is still led by India’s Shubman Gill (826 points). This follows Hope scoring his 16th ODI century in their victorious ODI series opener against England in Antigua over the weekend.
