Arunachal Pradesh wushu players shine at Moscow Star Championship, bringing glory to India

Itanagar/IBNS: Arunachal Pradesh wushu players representing India showcased their exceptional skills at the Moscow Star Championship held in the capital city of Russia from May 2 to May 8.

The athletes fetched two golds, two silvers, and six bronzes, contributing significantly to India's medal tally, securing a total of 10 medals for the country, reported by The Arunachal Times.

Onilu Tega emerged as the star of the tournament, securing a gold medal in the senior women's 52 kg category for Wushu Sanda.

Takam Chumchi, on the other hand, claimed the second gold medal in the junior category, excelling in the traditional Taolu Taijijian event.

Marcy Ngaimong and Chera Loku brought home the silver medals, with Ngaimong's outstanding performance in Jianshu and Loku's impressive display in Taijiquan, both in the junior category.

Ngaimong also showcased her versatility by earning a bronze medal in Qiangshu.

Tarang Sangbia, Mepung Lamgu, and Sangkio Pardung each secured a well-deserved bronze medal. Sangbia's exceptional skills in the 60kg sub-junior male category, Lamgu's remarkable performance in Taijijian, and Pardung's excellence in traditional bare hand events were instrumental in their success.

Nyeman Wangsu contributed to the medal count with bronze medals in both Daoshu and Gunshu events.

The executive members of All Arunachal Pradesh Wushu Association (AAPWA) gave a grand reception to the victorious wushu team.

Tach Tadar, the president of AAPWA, extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the medal winners, acknowledging their commendable efforts in bringing laurels to both the state and the country.
