Rohit Sharma's ability to score hundreds missing: Gautam Gambhir

India's white-ball cricket captain Rohit Sharma's dearth of century continued after he was dismissed for 42 in the third One Day International (ODI) match against Sri Lanka on Sunday.

Rohit, who still forms the crux of India's batting, is now without a century for 50 innings.

Commenting on that, former cricketer Gautam Gambhir said, "We should talk in the same phase. Virat Kohli didn't get a hundred for three and a half years. I think Rohit should be kicking himself.

"It will be equally hard on Rohit Sharma as well. 50 innings are a lot, it's not like he didn't get a hundred in one or two games. If you look at the last (ODI) World Cup, one thing is missing from his game and it's the ability to get those hundreds."

On Sunday, Shubman Gill's 116 and Kohli's mammoth unbeaten 166 powered India to a historic over 300-run win over Sri Lanka.

With the win, India sealed the series win 3-0.
