Mumbai/IBNS: West Indies star player Andre Russell's aggressive knock of 70 off 31 balls powered Kolkata Knight Riders to win over Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 here on Friday.

With Russell's aggressive unbeaten knock, KKR chased down the target of 138 in just 14.3 overs.

When Russell came out to bat, KKR were under pressure at 51 for four but since then the Jamaican allrounder turned the things upside down for his team.

Sam Billings remained unbeaten till the end with Russell scoring 24 off 23 balls.

Earlier, Punjab batting suffered a setback facing Kolkata bowlers scoring 137/8 in 20 overs.

B Rajapaksa, who scored 31 off just nine balls, was the only batter who had scared KKR upfront but his dismissal was followed by other players, who headed to the dugout with low scores.
