IPL 2021: CSK defeat RR by 45 runs

Mumbai/UNI: Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by 45 runs in the 12th match of the IPL 2021, here on Monday.

Chennai Super Kings posted a competitive total of 188 for 9 in 20 overs after being put in to bat.

Opener Faf du Plessis was the highest run-scorer for CSK with 33 runs from 17 deliveries. Apart from du Plessis, Dwayne Bravo (20*), Ambati Rayudu (27) and Moeen Ali (26) also played important cameos.

For Rajasthan Royals, Chetan Sakariya took three wickets including Raina, Rayudu and Dhoni. South African all-rounder Chris Morris got two wickets whereas Mustafizur Rahman and Rahul Tewatia got one wicket each.

In reply, Rajasthan managed to put only 143/9 on the board in 20 overs, losing by 45 runs. Jos Buttler top-scored for Royals scoring 49 runs from 35 deliveries.

For CSK, Ravindra Jadeja took wickets of Buttler and Shivam Dube whereas Moeen Ali dismissed David Miller, Riyan Parag and Chris Morris.

With this win, Chennai jumped to the 2nd spot on the IPL 2021 points table.
