Kolkata/UNI: The CAB today circulated the List comprising pool of players to the participating clubs for the forthcoming Bengal T20 Challenge to be held in a bio-bubble at Eden Gardens.

Talking about it, CAB President Avishek Dalmiya said, "Due to the ongoing pandemic no cricket could be played. So the CAB is organising this challenge keeping all Covid precautions in place. A list containing the criterions for selection in the pool has been set in order to ensure transparency. 42 marquee players have been selected by selectors. Each of the teams would compulsorily need to have 7 marquee players in their 15 member squad."

"Consents from players for participation would be obtained prior to preparation of final list for drafting of players," he added.

He further elaborated, "Teams would be allowed to retain upto 8 of their existing players provided they are in the pool selected by the Association."

"A meeting was held today with the participating teams of the upcoming Bengal T20 Challenge at Eden Gardens. Those present were from Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, Town, Tapan Memorial, Kalighat and Customs. They all welcomed the proposals and plan for the meet," CAB Secretary Snehasish Ganguly said.

"After sitting out the major part of the year everyone is looking forward to some game time," he added.

Criterion for selection on the basis of performance in the pool had been set in order to ensure transparency.
