Sharjah, Apr 22 (IBNS): All-round performance by Kings XI Punjab helped the side thrash Sunrisers Hyderabad by 72 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Tuesday.

Riding on Glenn Maxwell's  sensational 95-runs knock, Punjab posted 193 for six on the scorecard and then

Lakshmipathy Balaji's economical spell of 13 for four restricted Hyderabad to 121 with four balls to spare.

Cheteshwar Pujara (35) and Virender Sehwag (30) showed signs of form. They, however, departed before adding more troubles for the opposition.

Maxwell continued his good form in the tournament and smashed a 43-ball 95. He smashed five boundaries and nine sixes in his knock.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up three wickets for Hyderabad.

Losing three wickets of Shikhar Dhawan (1), Aaron Finch (19) and David Warner (8) early , Hyderabad were in the midst of trouble with the scorecard reading 33-3 in 4.5 overs.

Continuing losing wickets, Hyderabad innings never gained the pace to reach the target.

Lokesh Rahul remained the top scorer for the side with his 27.

Balaji demolished the side completely by bowling a crucial spell where he picked up four wickets by giving away 13 runs in his four overs.

Mitchell Johnson and Akshar Patel picked up two each.
