Dubai/UNI: Riding on a special fifty from Ruturaj Gaikwad and a vintage Ravindra Jadeja cameo, Chennai Super Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 6 wickets in the 49th match of the IPL 2020 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, here on Thursday.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), batting first posted a total of 172/5 in 20 overs courtesy a superb fifty by Nitish Rana (87 off 61).

Apart from Rana, Shubman Gill scored 26 while Dinesh Karthik remained unbeaten on 21. For CSK, Lungi Ngidi was the highest wicket taker with 2/34.

In reply, CSK gunned down the 173-run target off the last ball, with 6 wickets to spare.

Gaikwad hit his second fifty (72 off 53) while Ravindra Jadeja's late cameo (31 off 11) made sure CSK went past the finish line in the last-ball thriller.

With this CSK win, Kolkata Knight Riders' play-off hopes took a massive hit.
