Stay safe, be vigilant: Virat Kohli tells fans amid Coronavirus fear

New Delhi/IBNS: Amid the outbreak of the deadly Novel Coronavirus across the globe, Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli on Saturday asked his fans to "stay safe" and remain "vigilant" to combat the virus.

Kohli tweeted, "Let's stay strong and fight the #COVID19 outbreak by taking all precautionary measures. Stay safe, be vigilant and most importantly remember, prevention is better than cure. Please take care everyone."

The skipper tweeted a day after the second and third One Day International (ODI) matches in the ongoing three-match series between India and South Africa have been postponed over the COVID-19 outbreak.

Several international sporting events have also been postponed over the virus outbreak.

The commencement of mega tournament Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday was deferred to Apr 15 from Mar 29.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday announced that the ongoing Australia-New Zealand One Day International (ODI) series has been postponed.

Australia's upcoming away series in New Zealand has also been postponed.

In India, 83 people, including 10 cured, have already been infected by the virus while two people have died.

Over 1,32,000 people in 132 countries have been infected worldwide.
