Potchefstroom/IBNS: A major scuffle broke out at the end of the high-drama Under-19 World Cup final when the Indian and Bangladeshi cricketers got involved in an ugly fight here on Monday.

Though the exact reason behind the scuffle is yet to be known, the fight began after the Bangladeshi players ran up to the pitch when left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan hit the winning runs.

The video of the incident went viral on Twitter.

However on the cricket field, Bangladesh emerged victorious by beating India in Duckworth-Lewis (D/L) method.

Bowling out India for 177 runs, Bangladesh, despite losing wickets at regular intervals, continued the momentum and reached 170 runs for the loss of seven wickets when the rain came down disrupting the proceedings.

Akbar Ali (43*) played a captain's knock and hold the guard at a time when the opposition was trying to come back to the game by picking up quick wickets.

Parvez Hossain Emon provided Bangladesh a strong start at the beginning as he contributed 47 runs with the willow.

India's Ravi Bishnoi tried to shine with the white cherry and picked up four wickets in the innings.

However, despite all efforts by the Indian team, Bangladesh cricketers managed to clinch a stunning victory in the game.

Bangladesh won the Under-19 World Cup for the first time in history.
