Bloemfontein/UNI: Ravi Bishnoi and Kartik Tyagi shared the spoils as defending champions India thrashed Japan by 10 wickets in the ICC Under 19 World Cup 2020 at the Mangaung Oval, here on Tuesday.

This was India's second successive win after beating Sri Lanka in their opening match.

Opting to bowl, India bowled out Japan Under 19 for paltry 41 in 22.5 overs as Bishnoi picked up four wickets, while Tyagi got three wickets.

Tyagi set the ball rolling for India Under 19 as he struck twice in the fifth over, dismissing Marcus Thurgate and Neel Date.

Bishnoi then reduced Japan Under 19 to 14/4 as he removed Shu Noguchi and Kazumasa Takahashi on the successive deliveries in the eighth over.

Bishnoi added two more wickets to his tally before Tyagi, Akash Singh and Vidyadhar Patil ran through the Japanese Under 19 lower middle-order and tail.

Needing 42 runs to win, Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (29 not out) and Kumar Kushagra (13 not out) chased down the target in 4.5 overs.

India will face New Zealand in their next match on Friday.
