London, Jun 24 (UNI) England opener Jason Roy has been ruled of clash against Australia on Tuesday due to hamstring injury.

The opening batsman tore his left hamstring while fielding against West Indies at Southampton on June 14 and missed the matches against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.

Despite having a practice session on Monday and making good progress, he will not play and continue his recovery process.

James Vince will continue at the top of the order who has not enjoyed the best of times till now, scoring 14 and 26.

Roy will now target Sunday's clash with India as the date for his comeback as England badly need their aggressive batsman after Eoin Morgan's side's shock defeat against Sri Lanka on Friday.

England are still in contention for a semi-final berth but will now need to win at least one of their final three group games in order to confirm their position in the last four.
