Shotgun legend Rhode wins 19th personal World Cup gold medal
Mexico City, Mar 25 (Xinhua/UNI) 40-year-old shotgun legend Kimberly Rhode added one gold to her enormous shooting-medal collection by claiming title at women's skeet event of 2019 ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Acapulco, Mexico on Sunday.
A total of 57 targets hit awarded the American her 19th personal ISSF World Cup gold medal. New Zealander Chloe Tipple brought home the silver with 48 hits. Zhang Donglian from China won the bronze medal.
Rhode picked up shooting when she was 11. She participated in six consecutive Olympics and finished each of the Games with at least one medal. In her shooting career, Rhode has won almost 50 medals on various versions of Olympics, Shooting World Championships, World Cups and World Cup Finals.
Rhode told the ISSF official website last year that she would try to shoot skeet, trap and mixed team events at the 2020 Games.
