'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai': Abhimanyu sets an example by asking his mother to tie his pagdi, has happy tears in his eyes on seeing Akshara

Mumbai: The Friday episode of Rajan Shahi's "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" started with Manjari doing some rituals before Abhimanyu leaves with his baraat. Harshvardhan asks her to finish it fast so that she can put the missing button on his sherwani.

This upsets Abhimanyu and he remembers how his father has always ill-treated Manjari and how he was against his and Akshara's marriage.

Later when Manjari asks Harshvardhan to tie Abhimanyu's pagdi, Abhimanyu stops him and tells him that he is against this wedding and he doesn't want him to bless him half-heartedly. He then asks Manjari to tie his pagdi.

Mahima stops him saying that only a male is supposed to perform this ritual. Abhimanyu tells her that it's time they got over these male-female stereotypes and treat everyone equally. Manjari happily ties his pagdi and blesses him.

Harshvardhan is upset with whatever happened and confides in Aanand and tells him that his son never gave him the respect he is supposed to give him. Aanand tells him that he is going through the same thing but asks him to cheer up as it's a happy occasion.

Meanwhile, Akshara is emotional seeing her parents' photo. Kairav comes to her and asks her to have something before the wedding. They engage in a fun banter while drinking some juice.

At the same time, Abhimanyu is all set to leave with his baraat. He tells his family that he knows that they love him and he wants them to love Akshara the same way. He also asks them that a girl is often told that she should adjust in the new house once she gets married, but it should actually be the responsibility of the groom and his family to take care of the girl and adjust according to her. Harshvardhan interrupts him saying that if everyone changes according to the girl it will be a lot of work, but Shefali supported Abhimanyu saying that the girl will have to make a lot of adjustments while they can just make a few and make it fine for her. Abhimanyu thanks her and leaves with his baraat.

The Goenkas welcome the baraatis who dance to "Sauda khara khara". In return they also perform on "Damad ji...".

In the upcoming episode, we will see that the Goenkas ask Abhimanyu to do one last ritual before the wedding and with Neil's help he does what he is asked to do. Mahima then asks them to call Akshara. Akshara comes down wearing her veil with #AbhiKiAkshara written on it. With tears in his eyes Abhimanyu looks at her. To know what happens next, keep watching "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai".
