'We need answers': BJP MP and actor Roopa Ganguly demands CBI probe into Sushant Singh Rajput's death

Kolkata/UNI: Actor and politician Roopa Ganguly today demanded a CBI probe into Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

"It is simply unacceptable that such a dynamic personality would face such a turn of events. We all, need to know the truth behind the passing of our young and talented Sushant Singh Rajput,"  Ganguly said in a series of Tweets.

She tweeted hashtag #cbiforsushant, pushing her demand for an enquiry by the central investigating agency.

The BJP MP, who acted as Draupadi in the mega serial Mahabharat  produced by BR Chopra for Doordarshan, tweeted "Justice needs to be  served. It's unacceptable as to how such a bubbly and positive soul is put out."

Thirty four-year-old popular and rising Bollywood actor Rajput was found dead in his Bandra flat in Mumbai on June 14.

"Pointing a finger toward the aspect of 'depression' is probably  shifting the focus from the real problem that led to the passing away of  Sushant. Shouldn't we really look into it or brush it off as a possible suicide? " argued the BJP leader.

Ganguly also posted an interview, which was taken when the actor was alive.

"Take a look into this interview - only 4 minutes into it and see the positivity and the eagerness of a true artist. Should this go unnoticed under shrouds of doubt and speculation?" asked Roopa Ganguly.

The BJP leader also asked a series of questions leading to Sushan Singh's death.

She asked " How the police declared it as a suicide when no suicide note was found?"

"Was the CCTV footage checked and verified, that no one entered the house," questioned Ganguly.

"Was there evidence of any poisonous substance found in his body in the autopsy?" she continued.

"Was the investigation done in a hurry and why forensic team reached on 15th June?"

"What I hear and I see seems inconclusive and rushed about labeling the passing of Sushant as a suicide. We should probe deeper, CBI should be conducting the investigation," demanded Roopa Ganguly.
