Vijay Sethupathi's Maharaja earns Rs. 100 crore despite stormy run of Kalki 2898 AD in box office

Vijay Sethupathi starrer Tamil film Maharaja has managed to collect Rs. 100 crore despite the stormy run of Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD in the box office.

By the third weekend, Maharaja earned Rs. 100 crore worldwide.

Directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, the film has stars Anurag Kashyap, in the lead alongside Vijay Sethupathi.

The film deals with a missing dustbin from a barber's house.

On the other hand, Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD starring Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone in the lead has earned Rs. 375.46 crore in the box office in India so far since its release on June 27.

The film also features Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee in the lead.

Its timeline will commence with Indian epic Mahabharata and merge with 2989 AD.
