Mumbai/IBNS: Pop star Taylor Swift has joined the celebrations after Hollywood actor Dakota Johnson was named in TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2026, penning a special note for the Materialists star.

‘Refreshingly honest’

In an essay for TIME, Swift wrote that people are “still getting to know Dakota” even after nearly two decades in the film industry.

The singer highlighted Johnson’s recent promotional interviews, describing her as a rare voice of “refreshing honesty in a world of media-trained answers”.

‘Real and empathetic’

Sharing a personal note, Swift described Johnson as “real” and “empathetic”.

“As her friend, I can vouch for her realness, but add that she’s also one of the most empathetic people I’ve ever known. And maybe it’s true that she can’t lie,” Swift wrote.

‘Curious and unafraid to take risks’

Swift also praised Johnson’s curiosity and willingness to push boundaries, noting her efforts to explore complex themes and take bold creative risks.

“She can’t stop challenging herself, taking newer and bolder risks like building her production company TeaTime Pictures,” Swift wrote.

She also referenced Johnson’s recent work, including films like Splitsville and Materialists.

Upcoming projects

On the work front, Johnson appeared in two films last year—Splitsville and Materialists.

She will next be seen in Verity, where she also serves as an executive producer.

The actor is also set to make her directorial debut with A Tree Is Blue, an unconventional drama centred on the life of an autistic woman.
