Mumbai, July 6 (IBNS): Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's Twitter page is followed by 14 million fans as the actor's popularity continued to rise in the world of internet.

Khan is one of the most followed India actors in Twitter.

The actor has impressed his fans with his performance in several films over the years since the inception of his career  on TV in the early phase of his life.

Born in 1965, Khan started his acting career with theatres and television serials like ‘Fauji’, and ‘Circus’.

Though Khan’s first Bollywood venture was ‘Dil Aashna Hai’, due to production delay it was released after his second film ‘Deewana’ and became a box office hit. He won Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for ‘Deewana’ even after playing a supporting role.

Khan soon bagged author backed roles but most of them were with negative shades, often as a killer on the prowl. Notable among them are Darr in 1993 where he played an obsessive lover. Baazigar is also another film where he played a murderer in the same year. A year later followed Anjaam, again as the obsessive lover and a psychopathic killer though paired opposite Madhuri Dixit.

Few years after his debut in Bollywood, he starred in ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ opposite actress Kajol. The film helped build his image as a romantic hero and made him the King of Romance in Bollywood.

He continued to play the image of romantic hero in films like ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Mohabbatein’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Chalte Chalte’, ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Om Shanti Om’, and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ among other films.

His roles in films like ‘Swades’, ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’, ‘Chak De! India’ have been widely appreciated by the critics.
