New York/IBNS: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Monday made his debut at the Met Gala becoming the first Indian male actor to grace one of the top fashion events in the world.

Khan, 59, collaborated with India's ace designer Sabyasachi who offered a royal look to the attire the superstar wore at the prestigious event.

In an all-black look, Khan wore a floor-length trench coat in Tasmanian superfine wool with monogrammed, Japanese horn buttons with an unbuttoned shirt.

The coat is hand canvassed, single breasted with a peak collar and wide lapels. Paired with a crepe de chine silk shirt and tailored superfine wool trousers.

A pleated satin kamarbandh completes this bespoke look. Layered with a custom stack and complemented with The Bengal Tiger Head Cane crafted in 18k gold with tourmalines, sapphires, old mine cut and brilliant cut diamonds.

The classy, dapper and edgy look was further advanced with a tiger-topped walking stick which was almost synonymous with SRK's march at the event.

Speaking at the red-carpet, SRK said, "I'm very nervous and excited."

"... I have little kids who are very excited about the Met. I don't know whether I would have come here on my own but when Sabya (Sabyasachi Mukherjee) suggested that I should come, they went 'wow!'. I still don't know whether it is wow..."

Apart from SRK, other Indians who graced the event this year include Priyanka Chopra, Diljit Dosanjh, Kiara Advani.
