Hyderabad/IBNS: Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Telugu fantasy action film Akhanda 2 has crossed the ₹70-crore mark at the box office within five days of its release, trade reports said.

Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the film has collected ₹70.70 crore after its fifth day in theatres, according to Sacnilk.

In Akhanda 2, Balakrishna reprises his dual roles as Akhanda and Murali Krishna, continuing the story from the 2021 blockbuster. The sequel also stars Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty and Harshaali Malhotra in key roles.

Staying true to its spiritual-action theme, the film features Balakrishna as a powerful Aghora endowed with divine abilities, taking on rising evil forces. The narrative blends mythology, action and spectacle, a hallmark of the franchise.

The music for the film is composed by Thaman S., while promotional material and early teasers highlight large-scale action sequences and stylised visuals consistent with the tone of the Akhanda franchise.
