The sports drama was earlier scheduled to hit theatres on March 29.

The new release date was announced by Ram Charan on his X handle on Wednesday.

Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi stars Ram Charan in the titular role and is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the banner of Vriddhi Cinemas. The film is presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings.

Actress Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead, while Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyendu appear in key supporting roles.

The film’s music and background score are composed by A.R. Rahman.

Peddi is described as a sports drama rooted in rural life, blending action and emotion around a village-level cricket tournament.

Ram Charan has undergone a notable physical transformation for the role, sporting long hair, a rugged beard and an athletic build, a look that has generated significant buzz around the film.
