Prateik Chaudhary says everyone wants to play the lead

Mumbai: Actor Prateik Chaudhary is the parallel lead in Sindoor Ki Keemat.

The actor plays the role of Ashwin Awasthi in this drama bankrolled by Gul Khan’s Four Lions Productions.

“I am happy with the response around Ashwin. What makes this more special is playing a parallel lead and having a character that has so many shades. This is like a stepping stone for me to shoulder a show in the future. Who does not want to play the lead?” he says.

Many feel television is content-driven, it always doesn’t matter whether one is playing the lead role or some other character. Agreeing, he adds, “Basically it doesn’t matter whether you’re a lead or a parallel lead, content and the TRP are more important. So if one particular track is giving good TRP and the audience is liking it things change according to that. Sindoor Ki Keemat has definitely given me a lot of recognition. But yes, it’s just a start, I have a lot to achieve, a lot to learn and experience, and last but not the least, I want to entertain my lovely audience a lot more.”

There is a lot of competition at the moment, but Prateik looks at it differently. “I am my only competition. I just know one thing that I have to give my best and learn and get inspired from what others are doing. I want to be fair to myself,” he says.

On television all actors are replaceable. So one needs to put in everything, work hard and stay strong to continue the run. More so, TRPs or success is not in anyone’s hands, not even the actor’s. “We just need to focus on our craft and give our everything to the work given to us. There is no point in losing hope or lagging behind. I also believe that an actor’s struggle never ends, no matter how successful you are. It’s an ongoing process, ” he concludes.
