Pony Verma gets a pat from Bollywood idol Ganesh Acharya
Mumbai, Oct 2 (IBNS): Indian film industry's well-known choreographer Pony Verma has choreographed a special song titled 'Ghoor Ghoor Ke' for Bollywood's upcoming film 'Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami', drawing acclaim by none other than the biggest name in choreography in the industry-Ganesh Acharya.
The comic-satire, produced by Nautanki Films will be seen paying tribute to some of the most iconic actress of Bollywood including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi, Zeenat Aman and Helen.
The song is picturized on Jayaprabha, played by Neha Dhupia, a struggling actress who is dating a sleazy politician, Daya Shankar Pandey. In what seems to be a fantasy sequence of sorts, the pair don many famous Bollywood avatars for an impressive yet hilarious few minutes.
After watching the video of this song, Bollywood’s prominent choreographer Ganesh Acharya personally called Pony Verma to congratulate her on the amazing work she has done. “I just love it. Pony is the first choreographer I have ever complimented. I love the fact that she has given all the signature steps of each song depicted in Ghoor Ghoor Ke a new twist. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, and Pony has done a phenomenal job”, says Ganesh Acharya.
In a response to it the excited choreographer Pony Verma said, “I’m on cloud 9! Ganesh Acharya, the king of ‘signature steps’ called me personally and complimented me. I feel like I have already won an award. All the songs depicted in Ghoor Ghoor Ke have been super-hits. We have specifically taken these songs as the team of Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami wanted to dedicate the video to all the beautiful actresses.”
‘Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami’ is an upcoming comedy/satire produced by Anurradha Prasad & Abhinav Shukla directed by Ravindra Gautam under the banner Nautanki Films in association with Shikhar Films. The film is co-presented by Nautanki Films & Jayantilal Gada (PEN). Starring Divyendu Sharma as the male protagonist and Anupam Kher and Neha Dhupia in supporting roles, it is a tale of a son's struggle to bring back the honour that his father was unfairly ripped off. ‘Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami’ is set to release all across the nation on October 10, 2014.
