Mega update on Rajinikanth’s ‘Thalaivar 173’: Dhanush rumoured as new director

| @indiablooms | Nov 17, 2025, at 05:49 pm

Dhanush is likely to direct Rajinikanth's upcoming movie 'Thalaivar 173' after director Sundar C exited from the project.

Likely to be produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, the movie faced a hurdle after the director moved out of the project, leaving fans disappointed.

According to the Sacnilk report, Dhanush may take up the directorial role for the high-profile project.

However, the development has not been confirmed so far.

The project's future direction remains uncertain unless a new director steps in.

On the other hand, Dhanush is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie 'Tere Ishk Mein'.

The movie is directed by Aanand L Rai.

The movie will release on November 28.
