Love is always subjective: Actor Rahul Dev Bose on Khanikta Premer Moto

| @indiablooms | Aug 21, 2025, at 09:18 am

Bengali actor Rahul Dev Bose features in Platform 8's upcoming web series, Khanikta Premer Moto, which releases this Durga Puja. Ahead of the release, Rahul speaks to IBNS correspondent Rishika Sharma on the film and more... Excerpts...

Q. What does the title, Khanikta Premer Moto mean to you personally?

A. Literally, it means, "A lot like love" but I think personally, it's the very definition of how one actually gets through his/her life. Life is a lot like love. It's full of ups and downs, a little bit of turbulence, but at the end of the day, one feels amazing about things and gets the feeling of a dreamland.

Q. Do you think the story differs from the typical romantic stories?

A. I think at the end of the day, one can never really define romance in a way where two people always romance in the same way. Love is always subjective, it's different from one couple to another. So, this particular story has a very specific type of couple. There is a very interesting dynamic between them.

Q. How did you prepare for this role?

A. Just by having the time of my life and finding a new person inside me. People have an idea that I am an extremely serious person but I am trying to find the lighter and funnier side of me.

Q. Is the character similar to what you are in person, or does it differ?

A. It is completely the opposite. I'm extremely serious, very reserved and shy. The character I’m playing is also shy, but he's not reserved. He's kind of goofy, wears his heart on his sleeve, and often ends up trying to stand up in a crowd and be stylish, but ends up being the silly of the lot. But he enjoys being how he is.

Q. How is this love story different from others you've seen or been part of?

A. There are subtle parts of romance but it teaches a lot about life. It does not only revolve around love but gives you a wider perspective on how life is for everyone.

Q. What are you looking forward to, when it comes to this series?

A. I think the story is for a very vast pool of audiences, different age groups, and I think a lot of people are going to connect with it. A lot of people will find themselves in it, and for an actor, that is a measure of success—when we are able to make characters relatable. So, I'm looking forward to the audience finding a bit of themselves in each of our characters.
