Kamal Haasan's Thug Life underperforms in box office on opening weekend

Chennai/IBNS: Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan starrer Thug Life has so far underperformed at the box office registering the actor's lowest opening weekend collection in the last five years.

The film has minted Rs. 36.52 in the box office over the first four days since its release on June 5.

In a break up of the collection, the film has earned Rs. 15.5 crore on day one, Rs. 7.15 crore on day two, Rs. 7.75 crore on day three and Rs. 6.12 crore on day four.

Haasan's previous release Indian 2, which was not appreciated by the audience, had earned Rs. 69.15 crore on the first three days since its release.

Opened to mixed reviews, Thug Life is directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Haasan himself. 

Alongside Haasan, the film features Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lekshmi and others.
