Kolkata/IBNS: The trailer of actress Paoli Dam starrer upcoming Hoichoi web series Kaberi was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday.

The series  follows the journey of a simpleton middle-class woman, Kaberi, severely oppressed, assaulted & humiliated by her cop husband.

Kaberi, which is directed by Sauvik Kundu, brings to life a compelling story of survival, self-discovery, and empowerment.

Actor Sourav Chakraborty delivers a gripping performance as Anish, Kaberi's oppressive husband, whose sinister presence intensifies the emotional stakes and adds a deeper complexity to the narrative.

Kaberi, oppressed and abused by her cop husband, sets out on a journey to reclaim her life. In the process, she fights to save her student Shampa from a conspiracy, a battle that mirrors her own struggle for freedom and revenge.

The trailer offers a glimpse into Kaberi's tumultuous life, showcasing her transformation from a meek, abused wife to a resilient force, as their lives take a horrifying turn when Shampa is arrested a murder. Kaberi, distraught and fearing the worst, learns that her husband, Anish, is overseeing the investigation, diminishing the chances of Shampa's exoneration.

But this time, Kaberi refuses to back down. She embarks on a determined quest to save Shampa, unraveling a sinister conspiracy along the way.

Fighting for Shampa, Kaberi confronts her fears, tries to break free from her husband's oppressive hold, and seeks revenge on him. The visuals capture Kaberi’s rise as she fights for justice, balancing tension, emotion, and raw strength.

Paoli Dam says, "Kaberi’s story is one of quiet strength that slowly builds into something fierce and unstoppable. I hope the audience enjoys my portrayal of Kaberi as much as I enjoyed playing it."

Sourav Chakraborty says, "Playing Anish was intense. He's a complex character whose presence adds tension and darkness to the story. I wanted to bring out the power dynamics in Kaberi’s life and show the psychological grip he holds over her. It was a rewarding experience to dive into such a layered role as an actor."

The series will premiere on Hoichoi on October 8.
