Shah Rukh Khan, India's beloved superstar, who has won hearts with his charismatic and flamboyant screen presence in numerous box office successes over the decades, will turn 60 next month.
Celebrating the occasion, PVR Inox announced it will host a two-week-long Shah Rukh Khan Film Festival from October 31.
Seven popular movies of Khan's career will be screened across more than 75 cinemas in over 30 cities during the two-week event, to look back into the decades where the actor dominated with his dynamic onscreen presence.
The movies include Chennai Express, Devdas, Dil Se, Main Hoon Na, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Jawan and Om Shanti Om.
The film festival will provide his dedicated fans and new-age movie lovers a chance to witness Khan's flashy three-decade career through his movies on the big screen.
“Cinema has always been my home, and seeing these films find their way back to the big screen feels like a beautiful reunion,” Khan said in a statement as quoted by Variety.
“These movies are not just my stories, they belong to the audience that have lovingly embraced them over the last 33 years," he said.
The actor expressed gratitude to PVR Inox for mounting the festival and to Red Chillies Entertainment, his production banner, “for always believing in stories that connect us all.”
PVR Inox, one of the largest film exhibition companies, operates 1,757 screens across 353 cinemas in 111 cities in India and Sri Lanka.
