Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar quarantines self against Coronavirus

New Delhi/UNI: Veteran actor Dilip Kumar has quarantined himself as a precautionary measure against the novel Coronavirus pandemic.

"I am under complete isolation and quarantine due to the #CoronavirusOutbreak," Kumar tweeted. "Saira has left nothing to chance, ensuring I do not catch any infection," the 97-year-old shared on Twitter, adding that his wife, actor Saira Banu, was ensuring he did not contract any infection.

Kumar appealed his family, friends and followers to look after themselves stating that the virus transcends all boundaries and borders, "I appeal to all of you to protect yourself and others by staying indoors as much as possible. The #CoronavirusOutbreak transcends all boundaries and borders. Follow guidelines issued by health departments, protect yourself and others by limiting your exposure to others," his tweet further read.

Earlier the actor had complained of "severe backache" but after consulting a doctor in Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital he was doing better, his wife Saira Banu told media.
