Big blow for fans! Shakira’s India concert put on hold over Middle East tension

The organisers of Shakira’s upcoming concert in India have postponed the event amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

She was scheduled to perform in India in April, with shows planned in Mumbai on April 10 and in Delhi on April 15.

In a post shared on the District Updates Instagram handle, organisers said, “Due to the prevailing geopolitical situation and regional tensions, the Feeding India Concert featuring Shakira has been postponed until further notice.”

“The well-being of our fans, the artist, and the production team remains our foremost priority. All ticket holders will receive a full refund, automatically processed to your original mode of payment,” the statement added.

It further noted, “We’re working with the artist team to find a new date and will share updates as soon as we have them. Feeding India Concert has always stood for something greater — and that commitment remains unchanged.”

The postponement comes at a time when tensions in the Middle East have escalated significantly following reported strikes by the US and Israel on Iran on February 28.

In response, Tehran carried out retaliatory actions targeting several Gulf nations, further intensifying regional instability and impacting economic and geopolitical conditions.
