Kolkata, June 16 (IBNS) Makers of a new Bengali teleserial weaving a humane story of a child who is differently-abled, owing to autism, said they hoped the content of the upcoming soap will stir the emotions of the audience.
The cast and crew of  Bengali TV serial ‘Aamader Choto Nadi’ interacted with the media in Kolkata on Friday.

"Let us stand together and treat the differently abled with love and care, not with rejection and scare.” said Eshita Surana, Director of Aakash Aath, the channel in which the new soap will be aired.

She introduced the concept of the serial to the audience: “The story is about a 5 year old girl, Nadi who is differently-abled.”

Debasis Bhattacharya, director of the serial, explained the reasons for choosing the subject of autism.

“We sit in the drawing room, wishing to see something different, something that will stir our emotions,” he said believing that the show will touch the audience.

Payal Dutta and Priyam play the roles of Amrapali and Shrabon, little Nadi’s foster parents who adopt her after the death of her real mother, Ananya, played by Ankita Mazumder. The 5-year-old Nadi is played by Aarohi Dutta.

“The character that I am playing this time is very different. I was very excited to take up this role”, said Payal Dutta.

Actor Priyam said he was ready to take up this challenge after talking to the director. He encouraged the audience to watch Amader Choto Nadi being aired from June 15.

Little Aarohi Dutta sat through the launch, smiling and playing a video game. “She does not laugh, she makes other laugh. She does not cry, she makes others cry. She does not think, she makes others think,” said the makers of the serial.
