B-Town diva Madhuri Dixit turns 48

Mumbai, May 15 (IBNS): Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit-Nene, who has reigned the silver screen with her 'Dhak Dhak' moves, acting skills, dancing talent for ages and continues to charm her fans after her comeback to films, turned 48 years of age on Friday.
Ahead of her birthday, Madhuri joined by her husband Shriram Nene, Saroj Khan, Terence Lewis and Leena Mogre, introduced the Learn Move Unite philosophy of 'Dance with Madhuri' TM (DWM)-Version 2.0.  ‘Dance with Madhuri’ is an e-learning platform that allows people to easily Learn to Dance, Move to stay fit and seamlessly Unite and connect with the world to create a marketplace for their skills. 

Madhuri made her debut in the silver screen with the film 'Abodh' in 1984 and received wider public recognition with 'Tezaab' in 1988.

She went on to establish herself as one of Hindi cinema's leading actresses, acknowledged for several of her performances, her beauty and her accomplished dancing.

Some of her box-office hits include 'Ram Lakhan' (1989), 'Tridev' (1989), 'Parinda' (1989), 'Dil' (1990), 'Saajan' (1991), 'Beta' (1992), 'Khalnayak' (1993), 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!' (1994) and 'Raja' (1995).

After a relatively low phase, she reinvented herself with the romance 'Dil To Pagal Hai' (1997) and subsequently received critical acclaim for her work in films like 'Mrityudand' (1997), 'Pukar' (2000), 'Lajja' (2001) and 'Devdas' (2002).

In 2002, she took a break from films to raise her children and made a comeback with the musical 'Aaja Nachle' in 2007. The film was highly praised and Madhuri garnered appreciations for not just her acting but for her dance performances as well.

She has featured in women-centric films like 'Dedh Ishqiya and 'Gulaab Gang'.

The actress has also been a judge of celebrity dance reality show-'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa '.
