Amar Singh Chamkila: Priyanka Chopra cheers cousin Parineeti Chopra, Imtiaz Ali, Diljit Dosanjh

Mumbai/IBNS: Actress Priyanka Chopra has lauded her cousin Parineeti Chopra, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and actor Diljit Dosanjh for their film 'Amar Singh Chamkila', which has garnered positive reviews all across.

In an Instagram story, Priyanka wrote, "Congratulations Imtiaz sir, Diljit, Tisha and the team. Looks so good."

In response, Parineeti shared the Instagram story and wrote, "Thank you Mimi didi."

'Amar Singh Chamkila', which was released on Netflix, is a biopic on popular Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila.

Often called as 'Elvis of Punjab', Chamkila was a massively popular artist and on stage performer in the 1980s.

On March 8, 1988, Chamkila, who was at the peak of his popularity, was killed along with his wife Amarjot and two of his band members.

In the film, Diljit plays the titular role while Parineeti essayed Amarjot.

The film premiered on Netflix on April 12.
