Mumbai, June 10 (IBNS) Actor Aditya Redij has been roped in to play the title role of Karna in Sony Entertainment Television's upcoming period drama Suryaputra Karna.

The makers were looking for someone who not only has a great physique but also who could bring the complex character to life on the big screen. The long search ended with Aditya.

Confirming the same Aditya Redij said, “I am completely thrilled to play the role of Karna on screen. It’s like a dream come true for me. This is the first time I am doing a mythological show and I am looking forward to start shooting the show. I always wanted to do a period drama but I never thought I would get such an opportunity to play such a great role so early in my career. I have already started training for the role. Since it’s an epic drama, my look, diction and the actions have to be very precise and therefore I am dedicatedly working towards it right now. Also the show is made by one of the best mythological show makers in the industry so I am sure it will be a great working experience. I am all geared up for the role.”

Speaking about it, Producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary said, “ Aditya has worked with me earlier, so I knew that he would do complete justice to the character. He has the passion and the drive to excel and I believe he will surely give it his best.”

Suryaputra Karna chronicles the life of one of the most interesting characters from Mahabharta. Incidentally, the name Aditya also means sun.
