Sushmita Sen said working with Mukherji was a 'great experience'.

“Nirbaak is a film that does not need any definition or description. This is my first Bengali film. My dad always wanted me to do a Bengali film. It was a great experience working with Srijit Mukherji as a director. He taught me like a small kid at each an every steps while doing this movie," she said.

Srijit Mukherjee in press interaction with the cast of the film on Wednesday said Spanish painter Salvador Dali’s paintings inspired him in creating  'Nirbaak' which marks the comeback of the Bollywood actress.

“Spanish painter Salvador Dali’s painting had inspired me to do this film. The painting had a face of a human being. It made me think how would it feel if a tree possesses the same quality as we human beings,” explained Mukherji.

He said, “The story of this film is based on my own thinking.”

Speaking on the Bengali film industry, Sushmita Sen said, “Working in Tollywood is much more challenging than Bollywood films."

"Nirbaak will always remain special for me. After being in this industry (Bollywood) for 15 years, still this film made me feel like a student,” she said.

When asked about her future plans in Tollywood, she said “I would really want to work under Anjan Dutt as a director. Talks are on, so let’s see when things get finalised.”

The press meet was attended by actors Ritwick Chakraborty, Jisshu Sengupta, music composer Neel Dutt and National Award winning costume designer Shaborni Das.

Ritwick Chakraboorty, who has received critical acclaim for his past films, said, “Right from the early days of my career, I have been a part of diploma films of many director. This film is my first film with Srijit Mukherji. It was a great experience working with him."

Actor Jisshu Sengupta said, “ This is Srijit’s seventh film. His previous six films consisted of lovely songs, frames but this film is totally different from his other films. I never thought that he is going to do this film.”
