Los Angeles, Jan 13 (IBNS): Popular sitar player Anoushka Shankar and her husband Joe Wright have parted ways, media reports said.

Joe Wright is a popular British director.

The top British film director behind “Darkest Hour,” Joe Wright, and his wife, Anoushka Shankar, have parted ways, Page Six reported.

The couple were together for seven years.

“I can confirm that Joe Wright and Anoushka Shankar recently ended their marriage. All parties are committed to the welfare and happiness of their two beautiful children and ask that their privacy be respected. No further comments will be made on this matter," a representative of Wright told Page Six in a statement.

Anoushka is the daughter of late iconic Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar.
