Housefull 3 brings home the big bucks

Mumbai, Jun 4 (IBNS) Akshay Kumar's latest release, Housefull 3 is already on its way to becoming big, as it amassed Rs. 15 crore on the opening day of its release, making the film the second highest grosser after Fan, in terms of first day collection.

The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon, Boman Irani, Johnny Lever, Jackie Shroff, Chunkey Pandey and Samir Kochhar.

Business analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Housefull3 has an IMPRESSIVE Day 1... Evening/night shows witnessed a BIG TURNAROUND, after a decent start in morning/noonshows... #HF3."

"#Housefull3 Fri ₹ 15.21 cr. India biz... Sat + Sun biz should add to a STRONG total... Current trends suggest ₹ 50 cr [+/-] weekend... #HF3," a second tweet said.

Shah Rukh Khan's Fan, which released earlier this year, made Rs. 19.20 crore on the opening day, followed by Housefull 3 at Rs 15.21 crore.

The previous two installments, Housefull (2010) and Housefull 2 (2012) raked up Rs. 1.15 billion and Rs. 1.86 billion respectively.
