Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's fans were praying for their favourite actor's hattrick of hits since his comeback into the big screens in 2023.

After 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan', which shattered several box office records, the stage was all set for 'Dunki', a Rajkumar Hirani film, to lead SRK to his third blockbuster of the year.

However, 'Dunki', which is SRK's first collaboration with Hirani, has so far struggled to replicate the success of the actor's last two films.

After earning about Rs. 30 crore on the opening day, 'Dunki', which has garnered mixed reviews, grossed Rs. 20 crore on the second day, as per a report by Sacnilk.com.

'Dunki', which co-stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, tells a story of a group of friends taking a bid to reach another country through backdoor and face a struggle in returning home.

Hirani, a prominent filmmaker, is mostly remembered for his films 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.', '3 Idiots', 'PK', 'Sanju' et al.
