Mumbai/IBNS: Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan continues to rule the box office as the film created history on the second day by making a record with earnings of Rs. 68 crores.

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the sum is only the amount collected by the Hindi version of the film in ticket sales at home.

On Day 2, Pathaan, minting nearly Rs. 70 crores at the BO, marks the first Hindi film to approach this number in a single day's takings.

On the day of its release, the film made Rs. 55 crores, clocking Pathaan's business so far at Rs. 123 crores.

The Tamil and Telugu version added another Rs. 4.5 crores over two days while the worldwide ticket sales for two days took the number to over Rs. 200 crores.

"All BO records demolished. Pathaan creates history on Day 2 as well. First Hindi film to near ₹ 70 crore on a single day. Wed 55 cr, Th 68 cr (Republic Day). Total: ₹ 123 cr. Hindi version. India biz. Unimaginable. Unprecedented. Unstoppable," Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Pathaan opened to 8,000 screens worldwide, the highest for any Hindi film while 300 shows were added by exhibitors after the very first screening.

The film sold about 5.5 lakh tickets in advance bookings, second only to the Hindi dub of KGF: Chapter 2 in terms of Hindi films.

Pathaan has become a must-watch theatrical entertainer which is being celebrated across the nation. The film is part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe and has the biggest superstars of the country Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in it.
