Ranveer Singh wishes Kapil Dev on birthday

Mumbai/UNI: Ranveer Singh, who portrayed the former skipper of the Indian cricket team Kapil Dev in sports biographical drama '83', wished the legend on his 63rd birthday on Thursday.

Taking to his Instagram, Singh shared a picture with the caption, "Happy Birthday to the original Sakht Jaan Kapil Dev" along with bat ball and crown emojis.

"What an honour it's been embodying your champion spirit on screen!" he added.

In the photo, Singh could be seen with the ‘Haryana Hurricane’ from the time when he was shooting for Kabir Khan’s '83'.

The '83' team wished the legendary cricketer by sharing the epic picture of Kapil Dev holding the world cup trophy.

"An extraordinary sportsman and an inspiration to our nation! Here's wishing Kapil Dev sir a very happy birthday," the post said.

Addinath M Kothare, who was seen in '83' essaying the role of Colonel Dilip Vengsarkar, also shared a picture wishing the cricketer a "Happy Birthday Kapil Sir" with a red heart emoji.

Singer-actor Harrdy Sandhu shared a picture with Kapil Dev and wished him saying "Happy Birthday legendary Kapil Dev Sir.

"Wishing you lots of happiness and good health. It's always an honour to meet you and talk to you. God Bless you Sir" with two red heart emojis.
