Paresh Rawal appointed as National School of Drama chief

Mumbai/IBNS: Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has been appointed as the new National School of Drama chief.

India's junior Minister for Culture and Tourism, Prahlad Singh Patel, tweeted, "Eminent artist Paresh Rawal has been appointed the chairman of NSD by the President of the country. Artists and students of the country will benefit from his talent."

National School of Drama has put up a tweet, "We are glad to inform 'Hon’ble President of India @rashtrapatibhvn has appointed renowned actor & Padma Shri @sirpareshrawal as chairman of @nsd_india.' NSD family welcomes the legend to shower his guidance on NSD for achieving new heights."

Rawal has been appointed to the post, which was vacant since 2017, for four years.

The actor, who has remained a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentarian earlier, is known for films Arjun, Andaz Apna Apna, Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, OMG - Oh My God!, Table No. 21, Sanju.
