The film will premiere in Amazon Prime Video and will be available in 200 countries and territories worldwide.

The news has been shared by Bachchan himself on Twitter.

Speaking about his film, Bachchan said, "Gulabo Sitabo is a slice of life, dramedy that is a must watch for families at home," and added, "I was excited about my role since the first time Shoojit showed me the character’s look. It took me almost 3 hours each day to get into character with its different look."

On his sharing screen space with new Bollywood star Khurrana, Bachchan said, "I had a wonderful time working with my very talented co-star Ayushmann Khurrana. Even though we are constantly bantering in the film, it has been a pleasure working with him for the first time.

This family entertainer has the power to cut across geographic boundaries and we are pleased to bring Gulabo Sitabo to audiences across the globe.”

Khurrana is in the middle of a dream run in the box office after giving hit films like Badhaai Ho, Dream Girl, Bala, Andhadhun, Article 15 and the latest Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan over the last couple of years.

The release of several Indian films are halted at the present moment due to the nationwide anti-Covid-19 lockdown which has also kept the cinema halls closed.

As the pandemic virus is still spreading at a rapid rate, the reopening of the halls is likely not to happen soon.
