Mumbai/IBNS: Acting legend Amitabh Bachchan, who has been posting several videos online urging people to adopt precautionary measures to combat COVID-19, has now requested all his fans to stop open defecation to prevent the spreading of the deadly virus.

Sharing a video on Twitter, Bachchan informed a fact that Novel Coronavirus "lingers on human excreta much longer than in respiratory samples".

To stop the spreading of the virus from human excreta, Bachchan folded his hands to urge people to stop open defecation.

Interestingly, Bachchan was seen in several government advertisements promoting defecation in toilets.

The Bollywood superstar in his video also mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was instrumental in building toilets across the country to stop open defecation.

Bachchan's video was also retweeted by Prime Minister Modi who on Tuesday called a 21-day long nationwide lockdown to stop the spread of Coronavirus.
