Mumbai, Sept 28 (IBNS): Days after actress Tanushree Dutta alleged that Nana Patekar misbehaved with her on the sets of Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss, several Bollywood actors have come out in support of the 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' actress.

A former Miss India Universe title winner, Tanushree recently said Nana's reputation of sexual misconduct is well known in the Hindi film industry.

Meanwhile, several Bollywood celebrities came out in support of the actress.

Actress Twinkle Khanna said: "Please read this thread before judging or shaming #TanushreeDutta a working environment without harassment and intimidation is a fundamental right and by speaking up this brave woman helps pave the way towards that very goal for all of us!"

Actress Sonam Kapoor tweeted: "I believe #TanushreeDatta and @janiceseq85 recollection of the account. Janice is my friend, and she is anything but an exaggerator or a liar. And it’s upto us to stand together."

Actress Swara Bhasker said: "This is is long thread, but one that MUST be read.... lots of clues here as to why Bollywood’s #MeToo moment is so far away. Because we don’t want to hear these voices."

Actress Richa Chadha tweeted: "It hurts to be #TanushreeDutta rn. To be alone, questioned. No woman wants publicity that opens the floodgates of trolling and insensitivity. What happened to her on set was intimidation. Her only fault was she didn’t back down-takes a special courage to be #TanushreeDutta."

Actress Priyanka Chopra said people shoukd believe survivors of harassment.

"Agreed..the world needs to #BelieveSurviviors," the Indian actress said.

Actor Farhan Akhtar said Tanushree's courage should be admired.

"This thread is very telling. @janiceseq85 was there at the time of the incident being debated today. Even when #TanushreeDutta had career concerns to keep quiet 10 years ago she did not & her story hasn’t changed now. Her courage should be admired, not her intention questioned," he tweeted appreciating the actress.

Actor Vir Das said people should listein to Tanushree and what she wanted to tell about her experiences.

"For men, a big part of the #MeToo movement is listening to women tell their story. Supporting them with belief. #TanushreeDutta is telling hers. Be a good man, shut your mouth, and listen to it. There are many many more like it in our industry. And they deserve to be heard," Das tweeted.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap said: "If my previous tweet sounds vague let me clarify it. This should stop the questioning of intention of Tanushree Datta because there is a witness account of what happened and @janiceseq85 is as credible as the come."

Tanushree Dutta had worked in several Bollywood movies in her career.

She made the revelations recently.

"Everyone knows about Nana Patekar that he has always been disrespectful towards women. People in the industry know about this and that he has beaten actresses, he has molested them, his behaviour with women has always been crude but no publication has printed anything about it," the actress told Zoom recently.

Dutta said the incident of misbehavior occurred during the shooting of a Bollywood movie in 2008.

She said she was supposed to perform a special dance number for in the movie.

The actress told News 18 that Patekar made her uncomfortable to the extent that she eventually had to opt out of doing the song.

“These people called goons on me on the set of Horn 'Ok' Pleassss. They broke my car. They were called by Nana Patekar because that time he was trying to get into politics and he was associated with the MNS party. So, there was guilt written all over their faces. Even the choreographer Ganesh Acharya, the producer and director, all these people ganged up against me,” she told News18.
