Ashutosh Gowariker gears up for Panipat shooting

Mumbai, Aug 29 (IBNS): Director Ashutosh Gowariker is all set to begin the shooting for his next Hindi film Panipat.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Work in progress... Sunita Gowariker, Ashutosh Gowariker and Nitin Desai gear up for the shooting of #Panipat... Filming will take place at ND Studios [#Shaniwarwada is being recreated]... Stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon... Music: Ajay-Atul... 6 Dec 2019 release."

Making a historical film, Gowariker is likely to tell the story of the third battle of Panipat, which was fought in 1761.

The battle was fought in Panipat (now in Haryana), which was 97 km north of Delhi.

In the battle, the Afghans overpowered the Maratha force.

Film Panipat will star Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles.

The shooting for the film will take place at ND Studios in Karjat, Maharashtra.

Gowariker had last directed Mohenjo Daro in 2016. Mohenjo Daro starred Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hedge in the main roles.

Some of the notable works in Gowariker's career so far include Laagan, Swades and Jodhaa Akbar.

Panipat is slated to hit the big screens on Dec 6, 2019.
