Yemen: President's assassination will not break the will of the Yemeni people, says Houthi leader

Sana'a, Apr 24 (IBNS): Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen's Houthi Ansarullah movement, said in a televised speech that the assassination of party President Saleh al-Sammad will not break the will of his countrymen.

Sammad was killed in an airstrike carried out by Saudi Arabia a few days ago.

Al Houthi confirmed the strike and said that Sammad and six other members were killed in Saudi-led airstrikes carried out in al-Khamsin Street in Hudaydah.

"We consider the so-called forces of aggression, especially America and Saudi Arabia, responsible for killing of Samad and all the consequences of this crime," he said.

Meanwhile, at least 20 civilians were killed after Saudi Arabian airstrikes hit a wedding party in northern Yemen.

The said raid also injured 45 others, including 30 children.

The incident has been condemned by the United Nations, which has ordered a fair and prompt investigation.
