Won't allow H-1B visa holders to replace native Americans in US companies : Donald Trump

| | Dec 10, 2016, at 07:38 pm
Washington, Dec 10 (IBNS): Maintaining his his stern stand towards against outsourcing and H-1B visa holders, US president-elect Donald Trump has reiterated that he will not allow foreign workers on H-1B visa replacing native Americans in US companies, media reports said.

"We will fight to protect every last American life," Trump said while  addressing his supporters in Iowa.

Trump was referring to the cases of Disney world and other US companies, where workers, including Indians, hired on H-1B visas  replaced US workers.

“During the campaign, I also spent time with American workers who were laid off and forced to train the foreign workers brought in to replace them. We won’t let this happen anymore,” he said..

“You get laid off and then they won’t give you your severance pay unless you train the people that are replacing you. I mean, that’s actually demeaning maybe more than anything else,” Trump said.

In January 2015, Disney laid off 250  tech workers at Walt Disney World, Orlando.

Recently, two of former technology staff of Disney World slapped a federal lawsuit on Disney World and two IT companies HCL Inc and Cognizant Technologies, alleging that they 'conspired to displace American workers' with cheaper foreign labour, mostly from India, brought to the US on H-1B visas.

Trump also reiterated  his earlier announcement of building a wall along the Mexico border.

"We will put an end to illegal immigration and stop the drugs from pouring into our country, the drugs are pouring into our country, poisoning our youth and plenty of other people," he said.
