A woman was allegedly killed and set on fire by her in-laws in Pakistan's  Mouza Junglewala region, media reports said.

Complainant Wajid Iqbal, brother of Samina Bibi, stated that his sister had married Muhammad Asif alias Kalu three years ago, reported Dawn News.

Wajid on Wednesday night heard his sister crying for help when he was sitting with his cousin.

He and his relatives rushed to the scene to find Samina being tortured by Asif and his brothers Atif, Adeel, and Ansar, the Pakistan newspaper reported.

They attempted to rescue her but Asif opened fire and even threatened them.

The attacker later sprinkled petrol and set the victim on fire.

Police later reached the spot and initiated actions against the suspects.

Jatoi SDPO Khalid Bilal told Dawn News a case was registered against four suspects under sections 302 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code.
