Woman fatally struck by vehicle in Leaside

Toronto, Oct. 21 (IBNS): A woman believed to be in her 60s fatally struck by vehicle in Leaside Thursday evening, Toronto police reported.

The accident occurred on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 shortly after 7 p.m.in the Eglinton Avenue and Hanna Road area.

The woman was without any vital signs when she was rushed to hospital, paramedics said.

Toronto police Const. Clint Stibbe confirmed in tweet that the woman had died shortly before 8:30 p.m.

Police said that roads were expected to be closed in the area.

Five pedestrian collisions had been reported by Paramedics since around 7 p.m.

“It’s been a rainy day and we’ve had many calls for collisions with many people hurt,” police said in a tweet at around 7:30 p.m.

“Be careful going home.”
